The Independent Leadership Council Endorses Kevin Kiley for California’s Sixth Congressional District

Recent Polling Shows Kiley Running Even With His Opponent
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Independent Leadership Council (ILC), a national organization co-founded by Heather Manchin, Adam Brandon and Seth Cohen to elect independent leaders to Congress, announced today that it has endorsed Kevin Kiley in his race for California’s Sixth Congressional District. The organization plans to deploy robust resources in the district, including field and advertising , to ensure Kiley is positioned for victory.
The ILC recently announced that it had raised over $10M to assist truly independent candidates in congressional races across the country. The ILC, and its associated PAC, Independent PAC, will work exclusively with candidates who not only are running as independents, but have also pledged to not caucus with either major party when they get to Congress.
In California’s Sixth Congressional District, which includes parts of Sacramento, Placer, and Yolo Counties, the ILC intends to deploy full scale advertising and field programs, intended to bring awareness to Kevin Kiley, and promote his message as a true independent voice in Congress. Current polling shows Kevin Kiley even at 37 percent with his opponent and positioned well with undecided voters.
ILC co-founder Heather Manchin said: "We are proud to support Kevin Kiley, as he embodies the ILC’s core principle of supporting people over a party. Kevin had the courage to leave the Republican Party when he felt it was no longer representing the people of his district. We know he’ll succeed as an independent in Congress because he is doing it already.”
ILC co-founder Seth Cohen said: “Right now, Kevin Kiley is the only independent in the House of Representatives, and the only true independent in Congress. He is living the ILC’s message right now, and is a strong proof point that the independents can not only thrive but will change Congress.”
ILC co-founder Adam Brandon said: “In a state like California, which has notoriously partisan politics, standing up as an independent voice takes a tremendous amount of courage. It is because of that courage that Kevin demonstrated by sticking with his convictions that we are proud to be endorsing him.”
